We are very impressed with this toy and so is our son. The toy is very well-built and sturdy. Although the instructions are in Japanese, it is very easy to assemble. He really enjoys watching the cars speed along the track and into the battery-powered (2 C-Batteries) elevator. If a car gets stuck in the elevator, he intuitively knows how to turn off the unit and remove the car. Tomica makes special cars that work great with the unit. Some of his other cars do not work well with this set. However, we do notice that his Hot Wheels seem to work well.
Good Buy or Good Bye? Definitely a Good Buy.
